WAV is a twelve-member research collective based in Zurich. Since 2021, we have partnered with journalists, editorial teams, civil society organizations, and the non-profit sector. We examine and shed light on the impactful decisions quietly made in government offices and boardrooms. We create transparency – for those responsible to be held accountable.

For Media

In collaboration with journalists and editorial teams, we investigate stories that often get overlooked in the daily news cycle. With the thematic expertise of our research desks, we complement and expand the limited research capacities of our partners in their everyday editorial work. We also do this within the framework of larger research alliances.

For Civil Society

We undertake non-profit research projects in collaboration with and for civil society. Through workshops, interactive tools, researched datasets, and factsheets, we strengthen the research skills of civil society, empowering everyone to independently develop and verify the foundations of their opinions.

For the Non-Profit Sector

We also offer research as a service. On a commission basis, we conduct research according to journalistic and/or social science standards on a specific topic. This service is particularly aimed at NGOs and other not-for-profit actors. Thanks to the data and reports researched by WAV, our clients can ground their work and campaigns on facts rather than assumptions.
